1. Accepting these terms

By installing or using StatBat you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the app. They apply alongside our Privacy Policy, which you can read from the same Settings menu.

2. What StatBat is

StatBat is an offline app for scoring cricket and keeping the record that comes out of it — players, teams, matches ball by ball, tournaments, and the batting, bowling and fielding figures they produce. It is built for local, street and club cricket.

It runs entirely on your device. There is no account and no server. StatBat is not affiliated with any cricket board, league or official scoring service, and it does not provide live scores from professional matches.

3. The figures are only what you have entered

Every number the app shows — an average, a strike rate, a ranking, a points table — is worked out from the balls you have recorded yourself. The app cannot know about anything you have not entered, and it has no way to check what you have.

A ball entered twice, a wicket credited to the wrong bowler, or a match nobody finished scoring will change those numbers and keep changing them for as long as the record stands. StatBat is not an official record of any match. If a result or a statistic matters to somebody, settle it between yourselves rather than treating the app's screen as the last word.

4. Your records, and keeping them safe

What you record is yours. It is stored on your device and nowhere else, which means we hold no copy of it and cannot recover it for you under any circumstances.

There is no automatic backup, and the app has no export. Your records will be lost if you uninstall the app, clear its data, use Erase All Data, or lose or reset the device. Looking after the device is the only protection there is.

5. Details about other people

If you record another player's photograph, you are the one holding that information, and you are responsible for having their agreement to hold it. Please remove it if they ask. We never receive it, so we cannot remove it for them.

6. Using the app properly

Please use StatBat only for its intended purpose and in a lawful way. You agree not to:

• Copy, sell, rent or redistribute the app or any part of it
• Decompile, reverse engineer or attempt to extract its source code, except where the law expressly permits it
• Interfere with the app's operation, or block, hide or work around the advertisements in it
• Tap advertisements dishonestly, or use any automated means to generate ad impressions or clicks
• Use it to record or organise anything unlawful

7. Advertisements

StatBat is free to use, and the advertisements in it are what pay for it. They are supplied by Google AdMob. We do not choose, write or endorse them, and we are not responsible for the products, services or websites they lead to. Any dealing you have with an advertiser is between you and them.

Ads need an internet connection and use mobile data like anything else; scoring itself works offline. Where they appear, how often, and in what format are ours to decide and may change from one version to the next. Deliberately interfering with them — blocking them, or generating taps that are not genuine — is a breach of these terms, because it takes away what pays for the app.

8. Ownership of the app

The app itself — its name, design, icons, text and code — belongs to its developers and is protected by copyright. Using the app gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use it, and nothing more.

This does not cover the third-party open source components included in the app. Those remain the property of their respective authors and are provided to you under their own licenses, which grant you rights these terms do not limit or take away. You can read the full list, with the text of every license, under Licenses in the app's About screen.

Nor does it cover your own records. They are yours, they stay on your device, and we claim no rights over them.

9. Changes to the app and to these terms

We may update StatBat, add features, change how existing ones behave, or remove them. We may also stop supporting the app entirely. Where a change would affect records you already hold, we will try to handle it carefully, but we cannot promise that every feature will remain available.

These terms may change too. The current version always appears on this screen with its effective date at the top, and continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. No warranty

StatBat is provided as is and as available, without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that it will be free of faults, that it will run without interruption on every device, or that any figure it produces will be accurate or suitable for a particular purpose.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the developers of StatBat are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the app. That includes, without limitation:

• Loss of the matches, players or statistics you have entered, however it occurs
• Any dispute, decision or outcome that follows from a result or figure shown by the app
• Any loss of profit, opportunity or goodwill
• Anything an advertisement leads you to, and any dealing you have with an advertiser

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Ending your use

You may stop using StatBat at any time by uninstalling it, which also removes your records from the device. These terms stop applying to you at that point, apart from the sections on ownership and liability, which continue.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in your jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Where local consumer law gives you rights that these terms cannot restrict, those rights continue to apply.
