BudgetEase

Privacy Policy

What BudgetEase stores, what leaves your device, and what never does.

Effective 31 August 2026

1. Introduction

BudgetEase is an offline app for keeping track of your own money. This policy explains what the app stores, what leaves your device, and what does not. It is written to be read rather than to protect us — if anything here is unclear, please write to us and ask.

2. What BudgetEase stores, and where

Everything you record — your budgets, transactions, notes, and, if you turn on Sales & Profit, your items, stock purchases and sales — is stored in a database on your device only. It is never uploaded, never synced, and never backed up to any server.

There is no account, no sign-in and no server behind this app. We cannot see anything you enter, because it never reaches us. That also means we cannot recover it for you if it is lost.

3. What we do not collect

The app has no field for your name, email address, phone number or location, and never asks for them. In particular:

  • No account, sign-up or login of any kind
  • No access to your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or location
  • No collection of the amounts, titles, notes or descriptions you record
  • No selling or sharing of your information, because we do not have it

4. Crash reporting

When the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, a report is sent to Sentry, a third-party service that helps us find and fix faults. A report describes what the app was doing when it failed: the error itself, the screen it happened on, the device model and the operating-system version.

These reports do not contain your budgets, transactions, notes or sales. They do include your IP address, which is unavoidable for a service that has to receive the report over the internet. You can read how Sentry handles this in the Sentry Privacy Policy.

5. Advertising

BudgetEase includes Google AdMob. The AdMob service starts when the app opens and may display advertisements inside the app. AdMob is operated by Google and may collect:

  • Your device's advertising ID
  • Your IP address
  • Device identifiers and general device information
  • Information about how you interact with the ads shown

Google uses this to choose which advertisements to show and to measure them. AdMob never receives the financial records you enter — it has no access to your budgets, transactions, notes or sales, and no such information is ever passed to it. For details, see the Google Ads Privacy Policy and the Google Privacy Policy.

You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or limit ad personalisation, at any time in your device's own settings.

6. Your PIN, and what it protects

The PIN you set is kept in your device's own secure storage — the Android Keystore or the iOS Keychain — not in the app's database and not on any server. We never see it and cannot recover it. If you forget it there is no reset and no recovery code, because there is no account behind it. The only way back into the app is to reinstall it, which erases everything you have recorded.

Please be clear about what the PIN does. It stops someone picking up your phone and reading your records, and the app asks for it again once it has been in the background for more than about half a minute. It is not encryption. The database file itself is not encrypted, so somebody with technical access to your device's storage could still read it. Keeping your device itself locked is what protects against that.

7. Files you export or share

When you export a report to Excel, the file is written to your device's Downloads folder, inside a folder called BudgetEase. When you share a transaction as an image or a PDF, the file is handed to whichever app you choose from the share sheet.

Both of these leave the app's private storage, and they contain the records you exported. What happens to them afterwards is governed by your device and by the app you shared them with, not by BudgetEase. Delete them when you no longer need them.

8. Permissions the app asks for

BudgetEase asks for storage permission, and only on older versions of Android, and only so that it can save the file when you export a report. It is not used for anything else. Newer versions of Android do not require it at all, and the app will not ask.

9. Deleting your data

You are in control of everything the app holds, and there are four ways to remove it:

  • Delete a transaction, budget, note or sales record and it goes to Recently Deleted, where you can restore it
  • Anything in Recently Deleted is removed permanently after 30 days, or sooner if you delete it from there yourself
  • More → Clear All Data erases everything in the app at once
  • Uninstalling the app removes everything with it

Once any of these completes, the data is gone and we cannot restore it — because we never had a copy of it in the first place. If you want to keep a record, export it to Excel before you delete anything.

10. Children

BudgetEase is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided information through this app, please contact us.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will appear on this screen with a new effective date at the top. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy, so it is worth checking the date if you have not read it for a while.

12. Contact us

If you have any question about this policy, or about anything the app does with your information, please write to at.aurictech@gmail.com. We will answer.
