Terms & Conditions
What BudgetEase does, what it does not do, and what you agree to by using it.
Effective 31 August 2026
1. Accepting these terms
By installing or using BudgetEase you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the app. They apply alongside our Privacy Policy, which you can read from the same menu.
2. What BudgetEase is
BudgetEase is an offline app for recording and reviewing your own money — what you earn, what you spend, what you owe, what you are owed, and what you have set aside. If you turn on Sales & Profit, it also keeps a separate record of items, stock and sales for a small shop.
It runs entirely on your device. There is no account, no server and no connection to any bank, card or payment provider.
3. BudgetEase is not financial, tax or accounting advice
This is the most important thing on this page. BudgetEase records what you type and adds it up. It does not give advice, it does not check your figures against anything, and it is not a substitute for an accountant, a bookkeeper or a qualified financial adviser.
Any decision you make after looking at a figure in this app is your own. Where money, tax or a legal obligation is involved, please take proper advice.
4. The figures are only what you have entered
Every number the app shows is calculated from the records you have entered yourself. The app cannot know about anything you have not recorded, and it has no way to check what you have.
In particular, the balance the app shows you is not a bank balance. It counts only what you have entered in that budget, starting from zero when you created it. It can differ from your real balance for perfectly ordinary reasons — a payment you forgot to record, a transaction entered twice, or money in an account the app has never been told about.
5. Sales and profit figures
If you use Sales & Profit, please understand how the app works out what you have earned:
- An item's cost is the weighted average of everything you have recorded paying for it — total paid divided by total pieces bought
- Each sale keeps the cost that applied at the moment you recorded it, so buying a later batch at a different price does not change earlier sales
- An item with no stock recorded against it counts as costing nothing, so its sales appear as pure profit
- The app does not track stock levels, and does not handle tax, VAT, invoices, receipts, payroll or any formal accounting method
This is a reasonable way to see how a small shop is doing. It is not an accounting system, it does not follow any accounting standard, and it should not be the only basis for a tax return or any other formal declaration.
6. Your records, and keeping them safe
What you record is yours. It is stored on your device and nowhere else, which means we hold no copy of it and cannot recover it for you under any circumstances.
There is no automatic backup. Your records will be lost if you uninstall the app, clear its data, use Clear All Data, lose the device, or reset it. Keeping a copy is your responsibility, and the Excel export exists so that you can.
7. Your PIN
You choose the PIN and you are responsible for remembering it. It is stored in your device's secure storage and never sent anywhere, so we cannot see it, reset it or recover it. If it is forgotten, the only way back into the app is to reinstall it, and that erases everything you have recorded.
8. Using the app properly
Please use BudgetEase only for its intended purpose and in a lawful way. You agree not to:
- Copy, sell, rent or redistribute the app or any part of it
- Decompile, reverse engineer or attempt to extract its source code, except where the law expressly permits it
- Interfere with the app's operation, or attempt to defeat its lock or its advertising
- Use it to record or organise anything unlawful
9. Advertisements
BudgetEase may show advertisements supplied by Google AdMob. We do not choose, write or endorse them, and we are not responsible for the products, services or websites they lead to. Any dealing you have with an advertiser is between you and them.
What the ad service collects, and how to limit it, is described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Ownership of the app
The app itself — its name, design, icons, text and code — belongs to its developers and is protected by copyright. Using the app gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use it, and nothing more.
Your own records are not covered by this. They are yours, they stay on your device, and we claim no rights over them.
11. Changes to the app and to these terms
We may update BudgetEase, add features, change how existing ones behave, or remove them. We may also stop supporting the app entirely. Where a change would affect records you already hold, we will try to handle it carefully, but we cannot promise that every feature will remain available.
These terms may change too. The current version always appears on this screen with its effective date at the top, and continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. No warranty
BudgetEase is provided as is and as available, without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that it will be free of faults, that it will run without interruption on every device, or that any figure it produces will be accurate or suitable for a particular purpose.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the developers of BudgetEase are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the app. That includes, without limitation:
- Loss of the records you have entered, however it occurs
- Any financial, tax or business decision made in reliance on a figure shown by the app
- Any loss of profit, savings, opportunity or goodwill
- Files exported or shared from the app once they have left it
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
14. Ending your use
You may stop using BudgetEase at any time by uninstalling it, which also removes your records from the device. These terms stop applying to you at that point, apart from the sections on ownership and liability, which continue.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in your jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Where local consumer law gives you rights that these terms cannot restrict, those rights continue to apply.
